The challenge
Fine porcelain is bought once and kept for decades, so the category gives customers little reason to return. Saints-Pères wanted its new Left Bank flagship to be a place people come back to, not just a showroom.
The idea
The agency designed the 160 m² flagship at 69 rue des Saints-Pères around an extra virgin olive oil bar. Oils from around the world can be tasted in the shop or taken home in Saints-Pères porcelain made to be refilled, so each refill is a visit and the porcelain becomes part of a daily habit. The space, in dry-stacked brick that recalls a kiln under a lightbox ceiling, also has a coffee bar and room for tastings and dinners.
