The challenge
Give the BBC's Winter Olympics coverage a distinctive opening that expresses the speed, skill and boundary-pushing ambition of the athletes.
The idea
Build a miniature winter world and animate 700 individually 3D-printed athletes through it. Real fire and experimental combustion effects turn their movements into blazing trails across models of the Italian Dolomites.
