The challenge
The Film Commission unveiled Kader (كادر), a vocational training programme, on 1 January 2024 at Muvi Cinema in Riyadh's Boulevard City, alongside the fourth Filmmakers Programme. Its chief executive, Abdullah Al-Eyaf, said it aimed to train 50 promising Saudi talents with ten international production houses over 21 days (Al Eqtisadiah; KFTV).
The idea
Jether Production's film, entered at MUSE as 'KADER', shows 'the unseen collaborative artistry behind every unforgettable scene', from directors and cinematographers to set designers, editors and stunt performers. Its point is that filmmaking is more than acting or directing; the entry says Kader invites Saudi filmmakers to step behind the scenes, gain real-world experience and become part of the next generation of industry leaders (MUSE).
