The challenge
Egypt last won the Africa Cup of Nations, its seventh star, in 2010. Orange wanted to share the national hope for AFCON 2025 across generations, including fans too young to remember those wins.
The idea
Tarek Nour Advertising cast Wael Gomaa, Mohamed Barakat, Ahmed Hossam (Mido), Mohamed Zidan, Sayed Moawed and Essam El Hadary, plus current player Omar Moawed, and showed how far their lives have moved on in 15 years. The line: football stars have changed, the jersey stars haven't, and it's time for the eighth. It ran on billboards, TV, digital and social for the length of the tournament.
Results
- 32.7 million views for the main video on Orange's Instagram at the time of reporting, according to Campaign Middle East
