The challenge
The film had to turn King Salman's line that the nation 'was not built by a colonizer or another state, but by its own hands' into a Founding Day story of resilience and sacrifice that Saudis would recognise as their own.
The idea
Produced with Whizz Film, the cinematic piece follows the founding of the Saudi state from Imam Muhammad bin Saud through the generations to King Salman's era. It shows the country as a fortress raised by the hands of its people on faith and shared values, handed down from one generation to the next. Misk released it on 18 February 2025.
