The challenge

Refresh the festival's identity while connecting its history to contemporary cinema and a public audience.

The idea

Pentagram projects coloured light through LFF cut-outs, then films and photographs the changing shadows. The logo references the National Film Theatre's illuminated signage, while Haptik typography and a refreshed palette support the campaign. Maxwell Sterling provides the ident's sound.
