The challenge

The manufacturer had residue from its water-recycling process, while schools and local chalk makers faced pressure on resources and costs.

The idea

The company worked with chalk manufacturers to turn the residue clay into chalk, distributed through education NGOs. Publishing the method extended the idea beyond a single factory and connected industrial reuse with classroom supplies.
