The challenge
Many of Dubai's blue-collar workers can't read, or can't read the language on their medicine instructions, which puts them at risk of taking the wrong dose. Gulf News cites around 75,000 such workers.
The idea
Pharmacists stick simple pictorial labels on the medicine box, using basic symbols for dose frequency, time of day and length of course. The pilot ran in pharmacies used by blue-collar workers, with plans to work with drug companies and government hospitals and later expand across the country.
