Making Sense of Dyslexia.

Posters for Sydlexia scattered letters across the page the way a dyslexic reader might see them. Fold the poster and the letters come together into a paper animal with its name spelled out.

Making Sense of Dyslexia

The challenge

Sydlexia raises awareness of dyslexia and supports dyslexic children with their learning. It needed a brand and a way to show non-dyslexic people what reading can feel like.

The idea

Impact BBDO's design team set fragmented letters in a simple typeface and soft pastel colours chosen to be easier on dyslexic children's eyes. Each poster links to folding instructions; folded origami-style, it becomes a small paper sculpture of an animal (dog, fox, dinosaur, rabbit) with its name above it. The posters ran in newspapers and other media and double as a learning tool for children.
