The challenge
ADNOC began the 3D Mega Seismic Survey in late 2018 to map Abu Dhabi's geology across 85,000 square kilometres onshore and offshore, and in November 2024 awarded BGP a contract worth up to $490 million to expand it (ADNOC).
The idea
Action Media Production's film renders the survey in CGI: a vehicle crossing the dunes, seismic waves underground, a control room, a 3D data cube, a map of the UAE and heat maps, ending on ADNOC's 'Energy for Life' card. Its subtitles explain that the survey covers offshore and onshore areas of Abu Dhabi to find potential hydrocarbon reservoirs, at depths of up to 25,000 feet (stills in the MUSE entry).
