The challenge

Jood Al Manatiq set out to rally Saudis in all 13 regions to fund homes for the families most in need; Saudipedia gives its target as 10,735 housing units. Ways Marketing Solutions' entry says its first phase was meant to 'humanize the housing crisis'.

The idea

The entry describes three phases. An awareness phase from early December 2023, 'Impact Beyond Numbers', used stories, statistics and testimonials. Before Ramadan, a teaser written for each region, 'أكثر من… جود أهلها' ('more than… the generosity of its people'), produced lines such as 'More than the palms of Qassim—its people’s generosity'. The campaign then launched in Ramadan, led by the regions' governors. Al-Eqtisad reported that King Salman gave SAR 100 million and the Crown Prince SAR 50 million, and that the month brought 14 meetings with major donors, more than 459 events, more than 109 landmarks lit in the campaign's colours, drone shows in four cities and more than 165 TV ads.

Results

  • SAR 827,828,426 in donations and 4,935 families supported, according to Ways Marketing Solutions' MUSE entry
  • More than 284,000 donors had given SAR 800.3 million and 4,419 housing units were secured, Al-Eqtisad reported on 8 April 2024, as Ramadan drew to a close
  • 4,939 housing units provided during Ramadan, the Saudi Press Agency reported in June 2024 (via Arab News)
