The challenge
Jazeera Airways sponsors the Vanguard Symphony Orchestra's Kuwait performance at the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Centre, part of the airline's wider effort, with Visit Kuwait, to draw visitors to the country through culture, sport and entertainment. A cultural sponsorship usually stays at the venue, out of sight of most of the airline's own customers.
The idea
The airline brought the sponsorship to its passengers. Musicians flying from Cairo to Kuwait for the production, which Kuwaiti maestro Nawaf Gheraibeh composed and conducts, gave an unannounced performance in the cabin, turning the partnership into part of the journey itself. Chief Executive Barathan Pasupathi said travel is about connecting people, cultures and experiences, and that the airline is glad to help bring musicians to Kuwait as the country builds its name in arts and entertainment. InterContinental Kuwait Al Thuraya City, which also works with Jazeera Airways to promote tourism to Kuwait, is a fellow sponsor of the orchestra. The airline has not said when the flight took place.
