The challenge
The film's repeating haldi-day premise risked being read as sci-fi, it needed to be understood as a wedding comedy, and it opened against Raid 2 and Bhootni.
The idea
Naukri.com posted a fictional 'Sarkari Naukri' listing for Rajkummar Rao's character, Sagarcasm answered with a 'Groom Wanted' ad for Wamiqa Gabbi's, and the actors replied in character. After the trailer, YouTube reviewers, short cast videos, a custom emoji, a Swiggy integration showing the characters as delivery riders and a 'Relationshit Advice' episode kept the wedding-chaos story clear.
Results
- According to the case study, the campaign drew 203 million+ views across Instagram, Facebook and YouTube.
- The case study reports the film was IMDb's most anticipated Indian film as of 11 May 2025.
