Meta One brings paid WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook plans to the UAE.

Meta One, Meta's paid subscription, is on sale in the UAE, from AED 5.99 a month for WhatsApp Plus to creator and business plans from AED 46.99. It arrives as some Facebook Page managers report a limit of two link posts a month for non-subscribers.

Meta launched the service on 15 September and says prices and features vary by market and account. In the UAE, Khaleej Times and Gulf News list Instagram Plus and Facebook Plus at AED 7.99 each, and the Core and Premium bundles, which add more use of Meta's AI image and video tools, at AED 22.99 and AED 76.99. Creator and business plans start at AED 46.99 for Essential, AED 119 for Advanced, AED 359 for Expert and AED 1,199 for Max. Essential adds an enhanced profile, a prominent follow button on reels and more use of Meta Business Agent on WhatsApp; Advanced adds story scheduling, exportable analytics and team access. Meta says the core apps and Meta AI stay free, and reports 15 million subscriptions and trials so far. The coverage gives no Saudi prices.

Communicate's follow-up on 23 September focused on links. Meta lists "links in organic posts and reels" among the Advanced plan's features, which Social Media Today says applies to Instagram; Facebook link posts are not a listed benefit yet. The same outlet reported on 17 September that more Facebook Page managers were seeing a notice limiting them to two link posts a month unless they subscribe, suggesting Meta has widened a test begun in December 2025. Meta called that test limited and, according to Social Media Today, has said publisher Pages are exempt. It has not announced a blanket limit, and it is unclear whether UAE Pages are affected.

Links are already a small share of what people see on Facebook: in Meta's latest Widely Viewed Content Report, 98.9% of US feed views in the second quarter of 2026 included no outside link. Gulf SMEs, retailers and publishers that rely on Facebook for traffic should measure what link posts still deliver before paying for a tier, and check which plans their own accounts are offered. Businesses that serve customers on WhatsApp should note that more Business Agent capacity sits in the paid tiers.

Why it matters

Meta is selling link posting and extra WhatsApp automation as paid features. Gulf businesses that rely on Facebook for traffic should measure what link posts deliver before choosing a tier.

Google updates UAE ad rules for licensed crypto and forex firms

From 21 October, Google is updating who can advertise crypto exchanges, software wallets, CFDs and rolling spot forex to UAE users. Crypto exchange ads have been allowed for licensed firms since 2023; the update adds the Capital Market Authority to the list of accepted regulators, and for CFD and forex providers the CMA takes the place of the Securities and Commodities Authority, according to Finance Magnates. Each advertiser needs a licence from a named UAE regulator and certification from Google.

Why it mattersLicensed UAE crypto and trading firms now have clearer licence rules for Google ads, with certification tied to named regulators. Agencies need to match each client's licence to Google's list.
