Edelman's first Middle East youth study, based on more than 4,000 people aged 18-30 in 10 Arab countries. It finds a generation that is optimistic and confident with technology but under financial and social pressure, and that wants institutions to deliver real opportunities.
Key findings
- 75% of young Arabs are optimistic about their future, and optimism rises sharply among those who feel supported by institutions.
- The top worries are cost of living (42%), health and wellbeing (34%) and job security (32%).
- 68% feel equipped to adapt to emerging technology.
- Only 54% find it easy to cover daily living costs, and 55% feel ready for a major financial shock.
- 81% have felt excluded or judged at least once, and 77% hide parts of themselves to avoid judgement.
Why it matters
Young Arabs respond to brands that offer practical opportunity and value and that show them as they are, not to aspiration alone.
