The challenge
The ministry wanted to mark Founding Day by showing that Saudi sport has deep roots, so that today's achievements read as a continuation of that heritage.
The idea
Directed by Malek Al Hamami, the epic-style film moves between past and present, pairing the skills and contests of earlier generations with modern athletes. Its premise is that today's athletes are making their roots proud, summed up in the Arabic title 'Its foundation is champions' (أساسها أبطال).
