X opens lead gen ads to every advertiser, including self-serve.

X made its in-feed lead generation ads available to all advertisers worldwide on 30 October, including small businesses and those who buy through Ads Manager themselves. People tap the ad, fill in a short form without leaving X, and the advertiser collects the details.
The announcement came in a post on the @XBusiness account. The format works with image, video, carousel and Timeline Takeover creative, and comes with a dedicated Leads objective in Ads Manager and a Leads Center where submissions can be exported or passed to a CRM. Forms after the first can be pre-filled, and form fields now show in the viewer's own language. X lists demo bookings, waitlists, quote requests and event sign-ups as the main uses. Monique Pintarelli, X's head of global advertising, said smaller businesses can now turn real-time attention into results.
The only evidence X offers is one beta advertiser, the data company micro1. X credits it with a 75% lower cost per lead after switching to the Leads objective and five times average return on ad spend in Q3. But micro1's chief marketing officer, quoted in the same post, says the company cut cost per lead by 33%. PPC Land points out that the two figures may measure different things and that X gives no spend, volume or baseline.
This is not X's first go. Twitter launched lead generation cards in 2013, opened them to all advertisers that August and retired them at the start of 2017. The current version was teased in July and described as globally available in August; X now calls that phase a beta. It hasn't named CRM partners, said whether leads can be pushed in real time, or listed supported languages.
For Gulf advertisers, the automatic local-language forms are the useful detail, since one campaign could collect leads in Arabic and English without separate builds, if Arabic is supported. Anyone testing it should judge it on their own cost per qualified lead, not on the case study.
Why it matters
Lead forms are a staple buy on Meta and LinkedIn; X now offers the same route to small and self-serve advertisers, though its only proof point is a single, inconsistent case study.
