Snap launches SPECS Intelligence, an AI that acts before you ask

Snap has introduced SPECS Intelligence, an AI service it describes as anticipatory. Rather than waiting for a prompt, it builds an understanding of your goals, priorities, relationships and routines from the apps and tools you choose to connect, then carries that context across devices. Snap gives meeting prep and trip planning as examples, alongside Corners, which group areas of your life, and Goals, which track what you want to achieve.

The service runs on iPhone through the SPECS app and on Mac through the SPECS Mac app, where the full early-access experience is invitation-only. SPECS AR glasses are optional. Anyone 18 or older in the US can now try an iOS preview without an invitation, but that preview is limited to personal insights from Gmail and Google Calendar and does not include the anticipatory suggestions. Snap has not disclosed pricing.

Snap says Snap staff cannot view personal content used with the service, and that connected personal content is not used to train its AI models or to serve personalised ads. It adds that the service uses on-device processing and secure cloud infrastructure.
