HalaPop updates its bilingual logo after people misread the name.

The UAE soda brand changed one thing: the logo. Some readers saw only "Pop" in the name, so it now carries "Hala" in English as well.

HalaPop updates its bilingual logo after people misread the name

HalaPop, a UAE prebiotic soda brand, has updated its logo after noticing that some non-Arabic speakers read its name as just "Pop." The old design joined "Hala" in Arabic and "Pop" in English into one word, so half the name was easy to miss.

The fix keeps the Arabic lettering and adds "Hala" in English alongside it. The name now reads correctly for both audiences without dropping the Arabic identity. The logo also carries the tagline "Feel Good Soda".

Only the logo changed, and it is already live on cans, the website and social channels. There was no launch campaign. Co-founder Karim Jalloul puts the test simply: can a newcomer read the logo?

In the short term the brand is focused on UAE retailers and delivery apps. The medium-term plan covers the wider GCC and Levant, with Saudi Arabia as the next market. For anyone building a brand for the region, the lesson is that a name can work in one script and fail in the other, and a small fix is often the cheapest test you can run.
