A sector report from Saudi Arabia's media regulator, produced with Oxford Business Group. It sizes the Kingdom's media, advertising, creator and gaming economy and sets out the 2030 growth targets.

Key findings

  • The media sector's GDP contribution is forecast to roughly triple, from SAR16bn (US$4.3bn) in 2024 to SAR47bn (US$12.5bn) by 2030, about 20% a year.
  • Saudi ad spend was projected at SAR9.4bn (US$2.5bn) for 2025, up 10.5% year on year; digital is expected to take 90% of ad spend by 2029.
  • Media jobs are projected to grow from about 67,000 in 2024 to 150,000 by 2030.
  • The creator economy grew 32% in Q1 2025, according to Admitad and Stllr Network, and local ad-tech revenue is forecast to rise from SAR101m to SAR312m by 2030.
  • The Kingdom has 23.5m gamers, 42% of them female.

Why it matters

The report, produced with the regulator, combines GMedia's own targets with third-party forecasts, mainly from Statista, on where Saudi ad money is going: almost entirely digital, with creators and gaming as the fastest-growing areas.
