The Saudi results from AlixPartners' survey of more than 13,000 consumers in nine countries. Saudi spending intentions are rising while they fall worldwide, but loyalty is very low and shoppers switch easily for price, service or health benefits.
Key findings
- Saudi consumers' net spending intention for 2026 is +4 points, against -18 points globally; 33% plan to spend more and 38% about the same.
- Groceries (15%), non-food retail (12%) and eating out (10%) are the top categories for extra spending.
- Only 4% say they would stay loyal to a restaurant rather than switch; price and promotions are the main reason to switch (37%).
- 50% would switch brands for offers that support healthier living and ageing well.
- 74% say digital tools are as important as or more important than last year, while 73% say the same of in-person interaction.
Why it matters
Saudi demand is growing but loyalty is fragile, so retention, value messaging and health positioning matter as much as acquisition.
