The challenge
Tens of thousands of deforestation incidents happen every month, far more than reporters and campaigners can follow, so most go unreported.
The idea
Atlai uses generative AI to process those incidents each month and write a report, social content and news update for each one, linked to historical data for context. The output goes to journalists, activists and campaigners to raise awareness and press local authorities. A second version, Atlai 2.0, later added temperature and air-quality analysis.
